Let us check your child’s carseat The Georgetown Township Fire Protection District is promoting a child passenger safety public service geared to protect Hoosier children’s lives on the nation’s highways.

We have a permanent child safety seat inspection station during normal business hours. This permanent child safety seat inspection station will be staffed by a nationally certified child passenger safety technician who will inspect car seats and instruct families how to properly secure them in their vehicles.

Statistics show that at least four out of five car seats are used incorrectly. Improper use of a child safety seat can lead to severe injury and or death. Parents and caregivers can call the Georgetown Township Fire Protection District at (812) 948-0288 or fill out our contact form to schedule an appointment to have their car seat installation checked. Also, adults will be provided with material and instruction on proper child passenger safety and car seat installation.

The Governor’s Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving is funding this program with technical support provided by the Automotive Safety Program at Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University School of Medicine.
