The mission of the Georgetown Township Fire Protection District is to provide quality fire, rescue, and emergency services to the residents of Georgetown Township.

May 2015 Training Update

The training division continues to keep our staff busy in the month of May with a multitude of different trainings. We have completed CPR training at Highland Hills Middle School for approximately 400 seventh graders. We also had IDHS in to conduct a Crude Oil by rail training for GTFD and GTPD. We also have two volunteers that have now completed Technical Rescue, Hazmat Awareness, Hazmat Operations, and Autism training for Firefighter I/II. We have focused our crew training’s on Rope Rescue Training, Drafting, NIMS, EMS, drivers training, street familiarization, ropes and knots, and Engine Company Operations just to name a few.

Moreover, we have begun completing our annual Preplans of businesses in our jurisdiction. This allows us to know the layout of the business and any hazards associated with businesses in our area. Our training’s have been built around strengthening our basic fundamentals and gaining knowledge in more complicated area.
