The mission of the Georgetown Township Fire Protection District is to provide quality fire, rescue, and emergency services to the residents of Georgetown Township.
Floyd County is currently under a burn ban. This means no open burning of any kind due to the dry conditions. Please be aware that the ground and vegetation is extremely dry.
Thursday, June 7, 2012 GTFD would like to thank our citizens and all those that gave to this years Crusade. GTFD was able to raise their amount 98% from last years total. We collected a grand total of $25,43.45 for the Crusade. We could not have done it without the generous giving of our community and all the effort put forth by our firefighters and their families. Thank you again and we strive to raise even more next year.
The Georgetown Township Fire Protection District would like to thank Highland Hills Middle School for the opportunity to teach the 7th grade Health Class spring semester CPR and first aid. Instructors form GTFD taught student every Wednesday and was able to educate approximately 460 seventh grade students on skills that could possibly save a life. We look forward to more opportunities to educate the public and assist in making our area safer.
Thursday, May 17, 2012 It's that time of the year when we collect for a great Cause! GTFD will be out going door to door May 31st and June 1st form 6 p.m. till dark. Will also be going door to door on June 2nd from 8 a.m. till we are finished. Besides going door to door we will be collecting at roadblocks starting June 20th. Please be aware of those out collecting for this great cause and remember that donations can be dropped off at either station!
Saturday, August 27, 2011 GTFD will be having an OPEN HOUSE on October 8, 2011 from 12-4 pm. The public is invited to come out and tour the station and apparatus on Corydon Ridge Rd. We will have food, games, an ambulance from Yellow and a helicopter from Air Methods.

This event is a celebration and a chance to Honor firefighters for their hard work and dedication to their communities, their profession, and The Crusade For Children.
